About Dr. Walker
Cecile A. Walker, MD, is a board-certified OB/GYN with over 20 years of experience in the field. She welcomes patients to book an appointment with her at Lucina Women's Health and Midwifery in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Dr. Walker was born on the Caribbean island of Nevis, and at age 3, moved to the island of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, where she grew up. In 1989, she graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Virgin Islands, St. Thomas campus, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with Physics. She first developed an interest in female healthcare one summer during college when she had the opportunity to shadow an obstetrician/gynecologist.
In 1989, she moved to Washington, DC, to attend medical school at Howard University College of Medicine. While in medical school, her interest in female healthcare grew, and she also discovered a liking for surgery. Electing to pursue a career in Obstetrics and Gynecology was therefore an easy decision for Dr. Walker, as it is the ideal blend of medicine and surgery.
Dr. Walker received her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in 1993, graduating in the top 10% of her class. In 1997, she completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Vincent's Medical Center of Richmond in Staten Island, New York. After completing residency, she practiced in the District of Columbia and Maryland, then Montgomery, Alabama, before moving to South Florida, where she has been practicing since 2013.
Dr. Walker enjoys the cultural diversity that practicing in South Florida affords. She embraces the nuances of caring for women at every stage of life. In caring for patients, her motto is "the golden rule."
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and extended family, traveling, gardening, seeing live theater, and dancing.
